Why we exist
A culture of sauna and banya, formed and preserved across Central and Northern Europe, Scandinavia, Russia, the CIS and the Baltic states, home of the löyly, parenie and Aufguss.
This is heritage, not a trend. Finnish sauna culture is on UNESCO's list of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Sauna Society Singapore exists to hold that craft to a set of global standards, and to grow the culture around it in Singapore.
What we are building
For sauna and bathing venues, covering safety, ventilation, water quality, hygiene and the quality of the ritual.
A mark for venues, awarded on merit and never for sale. You can pay to be assessed, never to score higher.
For Singapore's practitioners and enthusiasts, including an annual Aufguss championship and parenie performance.
